Wow! It’s day 98 already. That’s crazy to me. In so many ways, I feel like I’ve just started my #366Days writing challenge, but the ticker keeps climbing higher.
This challenge is teaching me lots of things but none quite as important as the power of consistency. Beginning something new is great but continuing, showing up every day and doing the work — that’s where the good stuff starts.
Today, the lyrics to a song from the movie Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town have been running through my head. I could only remember the chorus, “Put one foot in front of the other and soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor. Put one foot in front of the other and soon you’ll be walking out the door.”
Thank goodness for Google though, which hooked me up with the full lyrics. There are some gems in there, but my favorite line is “you’ll never get where you’re going if you never get up on your feet.”
That’s so true of all our endeavors: writing, getting healthy, learning a new skill. Get up and get going. I did get up and I’m on my way. I sure am enjoying the trip.
