I was on my way back to campus from Rotary when my phone dinged with the telltale sign of a news alert. After stopping at the gas pump, I checked the screen and saw the news that Prince had died.
From the Little Red Corvette to the Purple Rain, he colored my youth and young adulthood with some great music. A prolific songwriter and a mega-talented singer and performer, he is gone from us too soon. I join my generation in sadness at his loss.
“Good night, sweet Prince.”
And to finish Horatio’s thought, at the pen of Shakespeare, “And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
