Fireworks #366Days Day 203

I didn’t like fireworks as a child. The loud noises were just too much for me. That probably makes me unAmerican or something, but I have pretty sensitive ears. And then my older siblings would play with the band at the 4th of July concert with sizzling pieces of the fireworks landing in their laps and on their music. It was more than my poor sensitive imagination could handle.

I’ve really started to like fireworks in recent years. The noise still bothers me, but I enjoy the show and the feeling of camaraderie that comes over a crowd when the fireworks start to fly.

Tonight, my sister, nephew, and I have driven to Kennesaw to meet our friend Dianne and her two daughters for the fireworks. It’s a beautiful night (in the shade!) and a great crowd of families.

We’re all ready for the fireworks.

God bless America…even those of us with sensitive ears.
