Larry and I went out to dinner tonight and drove home with a rather impressive show of storm clouds around us. Some folks got much-needed rain; others nearby did not. At one point along Highway 278, it had rained on the shoulder of the road but not on the road itself.
We passed through Wimberly Hill, where there had been a pretty good downpour, and stopped in to see my parents who’d gotten nary a drop.
We stayed for a good visit, watched a couple of heats of the track and field events, and then headed out, literally into a glorious sunset.
The air was fresh and cooler — not yet the nip of fall, but definitely a relief from the heat of summer. It made us breathe a little deeper and feel a little better and a little more grateful.
