Today’s word? Connection

I saw an ad on TV a while ago. I admit I wasn’t paying close attention, but it said something about how good it is when a person remembers your name.

It made me thankful for the rich connections I have with so many people — and today especially for the connections I have to this place where I grew up and have spent most of my life.

Larry and I spent our day in our town. We talked with church friends during the open house at my favorite shop. We spent a couple of hours enjoying being downtown at the Market on Main, catching up with friends and neighbors and soaking up our community.

Llama on Main StreetI’ve heard some people prefer anonymity. But I like talking with people who’ve known me my whole life, who ask after my family because they know them and really care about them.

So, this second day of the month of thankfulness, I’m thankful for this town that grew me and the connections it has given me. I’m thankful for spending the day with Larry, Napoleon and even a llama.
