Dawn TolbertHi! I’m Dawn Tolbert.
I’m glad you’re here.

I have always loved being a writer. From putting together a family magazine Camp Us Life [Not terribly inventive, but Camp was my maiden name!] at age 9 to hiding in my room with the new typewriter I got for Christmas when I was a teenager, writing was my love. My house is full of journals whose pages are covered with my messy handwriting.

As a grown up, writing became something I did mainly at my day job, and I had let MY writing die down. 2015 was the year I vowed to change that. As part of a new year’s commitment, I decided to make writing a priority.

And the results have been amazing.

I have written a first draft of my first novel.

I’ve increased my freelance writing income.

And I’ve launched an amazing collaborative project called The Pink Typewriter Project with one of my dearest friends.

Between all of that, my blog doesn’t always get updated, but I’m vowing to make that a priority through 2016. In fact, beginning today (December 5, 2015), I am going to challenge myself to post something to the blog every day for a year. This morning, my Twitter feed included a Tweet from @DIYauthor quoting Nicholas Sparks:

“You can’t be a writer if you don’t write, it’s just that simple.”

So, here we go: A 366-day Challenge {I HAD to pick Leap Year!} that will carry me through December 4, 2016. Follow along with #366Days.

I am glad to have you along for the journey! Please share your comments on the blog posts and encouragement is always welcome! 🙂
