Reminding Busy Women to Let Our Lights Shine!

Well, that’s a downer #366Days Day 171

Severely lacking for a topic to write about, I decided to Google this day in history to see if there’s anything interesting that might spur an idea. According to the History Channel, the Brooklyn Bridge opened on today’s date. Since my friend’s birthday is tomorrow and mine is Friday, I decided to skip ahead and see if there’s anything that might hit a little closer to home.

Tomorrow’s highlighted event? Star Wars opens. How cool is that?

My birthday’s notable event? The 1941 sinking of the German battleship Bismarck by the British Royal Navy. Hmmm.

In fact, there are a lot of depressing things on my day’s list: wars, orders for more war, deaths, nuclear testing, a horrific bus accident, and more nuclear testing. Chief among the highlights was the beginning of construction of Walt Disney World.

I guess my point is to not go looking to history books (or websites) for inspirational topics. After all, there’s not always a lot of notice given to the good things in life.

For me, the day’s always been a good one. And that’ll have to do.
