I watched the women’s final of Wimbledon today. No spoilers here, but the match did make me think about how we respond to stressful situations.
I’m no tennis expert; Larry tried to teach me to play once and I wound up on my knees doubled over in laughter. I’m not exactly good at the whole eye-hand coordination thing. So don’t expect profound insights into the game.
But the players today faced a stressful situation and responded beautifully. The challenge brought out the best in both of them, driving them to draw on strength and talent and endurance.
That’s a great life lesson. It’s a much better way to meet stress than hiding in the corner with chocolate.
