I came home from church tonight to find that our power was out. We’d had a few good laughs at church when the chandelier dimmed at just the right moments during the pastor’s sermon.
It wasn’t really funny though to walk into a powerless house unsure of when things would return to normal. Our dinner plan was to eat leftovers so I loaded mine into a bowl and headed out to my parents’ house for a visit and use of their microwave.
Funny thing, how an unexpected power outage can provide opportunities to spend time with our loved ones. Georgia Power exceeded their restoration prediction by nearly two hours, and the whole experience reminded me to be grateful for them and most of all for how much God exceeds my expectations (and certainly what I deserve!) with His goodness, Grace, and favor every moment of every day.
All in all, it’s been a great evening.
