Worship in Song #366Days Day 287

I love singing in the choir. It’s great being part of a group dedicated not simply to music but to worshipping the Lord through song. I love our choir’s emphasis on leading in worship. It’s not about a performance but about pouring out our hearts in worship and encouraging others to do the same.

Today, though, my runny nose and sore throat sidelined me and I sat in the congregation, afraid my coughs and Kleenex would distract too much.

As my voice simply refused to cooperate with making the sounds of music without stirring up coughs, I found myself using my mind and heart to sing the words even without the scratchy, squeaky sound my voice could have added.

It was a great morning of worship and my heart is thankful and overflowing from having been part of worship where we stood on holy ground and worshiped the Lord.

Psalm 100, verses 4 and 5 say “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Praise His holy name.
